I have been trying for a few years to find an inexpensive foundation from the drug store and today I’d like to share some with you.
I’d first like to mention that I have dry to normal skin. Like most people weather and season tends to determine the texture that I am dealing with at the time.
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hr with Comfort Serum in 091 Light Ivory
I’ll start by saying this color isn’t a perfect match for me, but it is the lightest shade I could find. This product claims to be a “skin perfecting full coverage foundation” with broad spectrum SPF 20. It contains 1 FL. OZ of product in a pump-less bottle for $7.47 at Walmart.
When compared to my other foundations this one feels a touch heavy on my skin and I will say that it is a medium to high coverage. I do not think that it would last up to 25 hours after wearing it for my 10 hour work day. It tends to break down by my nose-mouth area. It maintains a satin finish throughout the day.
L’oreal Paris True Match Super-blendable Makeup in C1 Alabaster
This foundation doesn’t have lots of details on the packaging of what to expect from it. It does have broad spectrum titanium dioxide SPF 17. It contains 1.0 FL. OZ of product in a pump-less bottle for $8.86 at Walmart.
This color is a good match for my skin and I love the pink undertone, because sometimes with drug stores they don’t always get the undertones correct. I will say that it does sink into my lines on my forehead if I don’t buff it in extra. This foundation wore really well through my work day. I’m happy to have this in my collection to use and I love that the line has a good range of tones for all complexions.

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in Calico
This is my holy grail foundation. I’ve even turned my aunt who’s a hair and makeup stylist on to it! I will say the color selection is crap and Calico is too tan for me. I think that since the undertone has more gray in it, it works well when buffed in. Honestly, the shade range is minimal and it is unfortunate because if it wasn’t I’d recommend this to all walks of the Earth I encounter. It comes in a very pretty 1 FL. OZ. frosted glass bottle with a pump and also has broad spectrum SPF 15.
It wears through over 10+ hours like a dream. I will say that it is picky with SPF, but works with the two I use. Check them out in my current skin care routine. The finish is extremely natural and leans to a satin finish. As the day goes and it warms up to my skin and a manageable amount of healthy glow forms.

Flower Beauty Light Illusion Foundation in Porcelain L1
Since I love a good dewy foundation, just the name of this one got me excited. The shade range including the undertones could be vastly improved in my opinion. This color is so yellow on me. BUT since I’m not ever going for super full coverage it works buffed out and taken down my neck a touch. Flower’s packaging of this product is almost luxurious in my opinion. The bottle is heavy glass with white and rose gold accents. It’s also a 1 FL. OZ. pump bottle that claims to be a “luminous makeup nude-skin feel”. Light Illusion also claims to be a all day wear that has broad spectrum 18 SPF.
I will say that the formula isn’t my favorite texture. It sinks into my forehead, and smile lines very quickly. It is still wearable and can be beautiful when it warms and sinks into your skin. Like on the one day I wore it and it was 85 degrees F. It is definitely one of the foundations that looks better with wear time verses initial application. Overall I love the way it looks at the end of the day.

e.l.f Flawless Finish Foundation in Alabaster
After wearing this for a few days I’m really enjoying it. They also did recently expand their shade range a bit so that’s a nice plus. This particular shade for me is a bit yellow, but can work. I will gladly use this up. It comes in a heavy frosted glass 1 FL. OZ. bottle with a pump. I picked it up at Walmart for $6.00. The outer packaging says it is an oil-free SPF 15 formula.
When applying this foundation it does a good job of not sinking into my forehead lines right away as long as I don’t apply too much. It has a medium coverage and a natural finish that tends to last really well one my skin. In the wear photos below you will see my glasses marks on my nose which happens with all of these. My mascara is also a smugged mess, but I was doing a wear test on it that you can read about here.

Unfortunately, I won’t have pictures to support this foundation and it’s weariblility. It is too dark for me right now, because it does oxidize (gets darker once dried down). This foundation is my go to when I’m self tanned. It has a beautiful glow and a very light weight feel on the skin. If you do not like fragrance then be warned this smells like banana runts! If I self tan I’ll wear this and provide and update with pictures!
Final Thoughts.
I am going to rank the foundations in order of my top favorite to least favorite here. Below I will also add an photo of all the foundations swatched next to one another on my jaw line.
